These compositions in English language are the first by André Cannavaro. They are mostly from 1996, a time when André lived in the mountain town of Petropolis (RJ), where part of his family also lives, shortly after the sudden loss of his mother, that reflect what was going on the head of a 18-year-old lad.
The name Steelbrain, a band formed in 2003 by friends André Cannavaro and
Wagner Blessed, who at the time signed Wagner Silva, came after André had suffered a car accident in Vitoria (ES), in 2002, a situation that led him to be submitted to four (4) neurosurgeries. Luckily, nothing more serious happened.
Few people had access to this work, as soon afterwards, they assembled the band Perro Loco 007, in Florianópolis, with songs in Portuguese.
In fact, André Cannavaro was experiencing the disharmonious chaos of his family in 1996. His mother was murdered by two minors, victim of robbery, and he became attached to the music and composers he listened to at the time, in particular, Eddie Vedder, Kurt Cobain, Layne Staley, Chris Cornell, among others, but he stuck to that fury of protests because he identified with the messages proposed by the bands. 

Soon, at 18 years old, he would begin to compose the first album named No Fear, in honor of the mother. 
‘’We’ll just have to bite the bullet and get on with it’’, he said to his brother Pablo.
But he did it from the heart and printed truth in the compositions, which are simple and direct, like a punch in the face of the motherfuckers.
And today he tries to explain to his friends who have never heard these
compositions: ‘’I unearthed and honored some of these hidden bootlegs; some tracks that sound like pearls from my first experiences as a composer and that still have the power to transport me to my best times’’.
Music is always power!
‘’Good times, really, where the playful and the genuine appeared in the first place and where ‘woke-washing’ had no space nor dared to travel my imagination.’’

But it is, above all, an explicit tribute to André's mother, murdered, victim of
robbery, by two children; in addition to mentioning his own experiences and also the way he came to see (a different lens) his then ‘’family’’ or ‘’ friends’’.

O projeto começa a vir ao mundo em meio ao caos desarmônico de uma família
inteira no ano de 1996.

As composições de André Cannavaro refletem o que se passava na cabeça de um guri de 18 anos, que acabava de perder a mãe de forma súbita. E daquela maneira! São as primeiras, de 1996, e descrevem com ternura, sarcasmo e indignação algumas das experiências sensoriais do compositor.
Anos depois, em 2003, ao ouvir o amigo Wagner Silva cantando e tocando ao vivo em bares, percebeu que aquele era o timbre perfeito para interpretar aquelas canções. André Cannavaro não é cantor. Ele é um compositor.
André Cannavaro, então aos 18, teve sua mãe assassinada por dois menores, e logo se apegaria à música e também aos compositores que ele ouvia muito à época, em especial, Eddie Vedder, Kurt Cobain, Layne Staley, Chris Cornell, dentre outros, mas se manteve fiel àquela fúria de protesto interior porque se identificava com as mensagens propostas por aquelas bandas e por seus compositores. 

Logo, ainda aos 18 anos, como ‘’num passe de mágica’’, começaria a compor as
músicas que fariam parte do seu primeiro álbum intitulado No Fear, em língua
inglesa, em homenagem à mãe. Segundo ele mesmo diz, ‘’é uma espécie de storytelling envolvendo também temas não muito diplomáticos’’.
Ele compôs esse álbum de maneira espontânea e imprimiu muita verdade nas
composições, que são simples e diretas, como um soco na cara dos filhos de ‘todos os filhos da puta’! Os temas abordados continuam universais e atemporais. E hoje ele tenta explicar aos amigos que nunca ouviram essas composições: ‘’Bons tempos aqueles onde o lúdico e o genuíno apareciam em primeiro lugar e onde o que chamam hoje de lacração (e aqui não há qualquer levantamento de bandeiras) não tinha espaço nem ousaria viajar na minha imaginação. ’’

O nome Steelbrain viria à tona após André ter sofrido um acidente de carro em 2002, situação que o levou a ser submetido a quatro (4) neurocirurgias.
